Veronica Shield desperately tries to protect herself and her daughter from an evil, paranormal force and discovers a world in which “things” and "people" are not what they seem.
Mike and Veronica Shield have just moved into their new home in Anywhere, USA. Their daughter Ashley, a little slow mentally, is looking forward to starting her junior year in a new high school. They’re a happy family. Happy, that is, until the night Albert Miller breaks into their home and ties up Veronica and attacks Ashley. A battered and frightened Veronica manages to call the police which results in their attacker being killed. But things are far from over. Miller's troubled spirit returns from the dead for the sole purpose of seeking revenge against Veronica. How will she find the strength to defeat this supernatural evil intent on capturing their very souls? It is not until the third act, in the vein of “The Sixth Sense”, that Veronica discovers that Ashley was killed the night of the attack and that her appearances since then, which were only visible to Veronica, were actually those of her daughter’s spirit. Eventually Veronica discovers that it has been her own rage and hatred that has been empowering the demon and that her only weapon, the one her daughter has been leading her to all this time, is that of forgiveness.
