Crooked Halos

Crystal is a young prostitute whose conscience has been making it difficult for her to return to the streets since the birth of her daughter several months ago. She lives across the hall from her very best friend and fellow hooker, “DIAMOND”. They make a pack to never work for the local pimps who do their best to enlist them every night at the local cafe.

One night Crystal gets a frantic call from a drugged up and very scared Diamond to come rescue her. Crystal arrives at a party at a high-rise hotel filled with high profile professional athletes. When she tries to drag Diamond off the balcony a fight ensues and Diamond slips and falls over the railing to her death. By the time all the commotion calms down they all realize that Crystal is gone. She is a witness to the crime and must be silenced or all their careers are over! The orders are given to the pimp to find Crystal before she gets to the cops.

The gang gives chase and corners Crystal in a huge, abandoned warehouse in the “bad” part of town. One of the gang members finds her and is about to kill her when...

PAUL, a busboy at the local cafe, steps in and takes out the gang member in a flash. This is amazing to Crystal because Paul, who walks with a limp, has been the object of abuse and ridicule from the local gang members who frequent the cafe after hours with their “working girls”. He watched as Crystal and Diamond fought off the pimps who wanted to bring them into their “family of sisters.” Paul, a shy man, has been in love with Crystal since the first night she walked into the cafe.

Paul drags Crystal deep inside the warehouse and she eventually discovers he’s the one who has been secretly leaving groceries and toys at her door. He explains that his limp is the result of a wound he suffered during the Iraqi war. He is a Navel Seal and is, in spite of his current handicap, and much to the regret of the gang, a trained killer.

They survive many battles throughout the night and when the sun comes up they discover the pimp is going after Crystal’s baby daughter. Crystal and Paul, both emotionally and physically crippled, find a way to save her daughter, stop the pimp from killing them, see that the athletes are arrested and realize that the true love they have found for one another is the only medicine their wounded hearts and souls need.
